OMG! So embarrassed

Kiss the ring, Britney . The EM80 eye tube finally came. Watch out guys, those Russian 6E1P "equivalents" are too large physically (longer and fatter) for this Emud Rekord 60 radio. They work fine but you have to be able to mount them in the available space and apparatus. No problem because the new ...

nvidia winding down support for older gpus again

WW such a buzz kill. Guys, I gotta warn you about tubedepot.com. Stay away! They ship out dirty, corroded tubes and tubes testing weak as NOS (New Old Stock). I have some tubes on backorder and they say I could wait indefinitely. For a frikkin' EM80! I'm looking for a more reliable supplier so lemme...

I wanna give a little speech about the A72T3 before my Emud update. OK, so when the A72T3 is properly aligned and tuned, the sensitivity and sound are fine. I improved things even more by replacing the overly thick grille cloth and removing the slats so that the speaker round hole is unimpeded. Also...

Can you please test this, Mr Frankaboy ? If you give it your blessing I'll make a release. Thank you! * Create INI file if it doesn't exist. * Populate all streams into the Streams listbox. If language is not null in the INI file, then pre-select the video and chapters streams, and all other streams...

Hi Mr Frankie . It's working fine but Rocky said he'd like to see two things: 1. For a missing INI file, catch the exception and raise a warning pop-up saying that the INI file is missing. Or, better yet, automatically create a default INI file. 2. For the language handling: populate all the streams...

Thanks Curl . Agreed on all points. But don't you have some eac3to work to do? DG has approved my work on the A72T3. I've buttoned it up and it is back on the display shelf. Good for another 50 years, minimum! Now I'm just waiting on the 6V4 tube to arrive to get the Emud B+ up to snuff. It's gonna ...

Well guys, DG was right. The new speaker sounds much better. So here I am in the process of installing it. Hoping to get this baby buttoned up tomorrow morning. I used 24 hour epoxy (DevCon plastic steel).

Mr hydra3333, so great to hear you use DG stuff for OTA. A hidden motivator. DG is big on OTA too.

The Emud plays on FM too! Found a problem though. It took like 20 minutes to get loud enough, and even then the volume control had to be cranked all the way. And I measured the voltage on the eye tube to see why it wasn't glowing and it had only 50 V. So then I measured the B+ and it was supposed to...

DG wanted a German tube FM radio because he saw how good they are when he fixed a buddy's Telefunken. So I was keeping my eyes open and found an Emud Rekord Senior 60, which I got for a good price. I had to fix the cabinet that got cracked in shipping but it's fine now. I replaced a bunch of caps a...

It never ends. DG said it's still intermittent and the speaker must be replaced. Stupid me, I had the rusty 12H6 in there. Noisy POS.

Yeah, the speaker. I have a magic speaker coming to astound and amaze you. Low profile is the ticket.

Thank you, Mr DG . You mentioned the A72T3 was still having some difficulties. The signal level is low on FM, and some intermittency remains. That's after I thought I cured the intermittency. :( So I opened her up again and found: * The 6AQ6 tube was weak. Replaced it and now the sensitivity is grea...

Oh guys. DG tests all the restored radios every two years just to keep the electrolytic caps nicely formed and to make sure nothing has degraded. I was so embarrassed when he reported that all three of the Philco 38-12 radios had unacceptable performance! I was the guy that did those radios. ...

Welcome back, Mr hubblec4!

OK, I'll go with the clipboard and a copy button.

I like your folder ideas. You said:

"I have a variable for each folder selection that stores the last folder used."

Do you store that in an INI file or is it just a dynamic variable that lives as long as cE is open?

Great to have you back safe and sound, Mr Frankie . I'll give it a try. It's better to have it in the clipboard rather than writing a file, I agree. Maybe a copy button would be better than right click anywhere. What do you think? As far as I know, it's just you and me contributing for the GUI. If I...
