I wonder if the bitstream parsing issue is also preventing eac3to from converting eac3 to simple ac3 directly.
You first have to demux the audio track to .ec3 extension and then it works converting the new file to ac3.
But not when it's included in a container, be it M2TS, MKV or anything else.
