Deferred log write
Tell us how you think it should work. One idea: write the log on each indexing operation and just keep appending to the log file with a date and time for each indexing operation. Delete the log if you want to start over.

Philco 48-461 radio restoration
Darn it, DG doesn't want any leds. He says the external appearance must be as original, and dial illumination is definitely an external appearance. He said he would consider allowing a high cutoff filter but only after hearing how the original sounds when installed in the cabinet. Got the intermitte...

Philco 48-461 radio restoration
Reached a good milestone as the major electrical restoration is complete. In the photo below you can see that a lot of re-capping has been done. We decided to recap in the RF section only if a failure(s) occurs. Don't want to risk detuning anything. You can see the dropping resistor mounted to the o...

Philco 48-461 radio restoration
It's not rocket science guys. We have to dissipate 4W. So here's a simple 100 ohm 25W power resistor in the neutral line. Mount to chassis and Boris is your uncle. This is bucking about 15 Vac, sending 109Vac to the radio. Common in the era was 110Vac. Undervolting at 100 Vac could lead to cathode p...

Pimp it out hidden inside the chassis. Like, add some anti-hiss (the old "shhhh" problem) and bass enhancement circuitry. Gotta think outside the box. That's what Balti told me. So here goes. We add a small fan to the radio just like a PC enclosure. It can be under the chassis opening to the bottom ...

OMG guys, you're not gonna believe this. Even Albert was impressed. After I killed all the wall warts, well at least my AC mandates were obeyed, I noticed the function generator and thought how it could be turned into an AM transmitter. This could be useful for communications after society breaks do...

Killed a wall wart today
Here's my secret weapon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004LZ5XMU/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1 I've deployed one already and have a second on order. Gonna power the UHD ripper disk from the 11700K machine now and murder that wall wart, and try to put the drive inside the case. I...

Killed a wall wart today
Killed another one just now...the docking station on the main 11700K machine. I also mounted both stations to the tops of the machines (3M mounting tape, awesome stuff). Much tidier. I hereby declare war on any AC device that covers more than one outlet when plugged in. You hear that, wall warts? I ...

Killed a wall wart today
Guys, you'll be so proud of me, I killed a wall wart today! Total elimination, no mercy. I was looking at this docking station connected to the 7700K machine, with its stupid cord and wall wart. Then I noticed like 8-10 other wall warts clogging up the AC outlets too. You know those things suck beca...

That's what I was thinking!
Rodney said he had to make sure that if he became a forum member that he would get no respect. So you guys have to promise to disrespect and ridicule him. It's confusing to me but remember I am only 6 years old.

@Guest 2 and Rocky
I am sorry for my insulting post. It was just because daddy took away my phone because I was spending too much time on TikTok, and believe me, was I in a pissy mood.
DG told me the last little bit is what makes and breaks projects and I'm going to try to live by that.
