Ha ha, 444 support is trivial. I'll add it and update the binary today.

Can Sandy Cheeks fly? I don't think so :salute:

What about Scrat? Can't fly but what is so great about that?

You said status is in the collective valuation. Think about it. Scrat?

Scrat is obsessive, not very bright and unlucky. If he could fly all this problems would be solved and the acorn would be his :ugeek:

Any interest in a filter implementing nVidia's Optix denoiser?

https://github.com/DeclanRussell/NvidiaAIDenoiser

I don't know how fast it is. Could be an issue if it is very slow.

Hmm, 50 ms for 1024x1024 and it BLOWS AWAY DGDenoise. I'll try to get some screenshots for you.

Also supports temporal denoising!

Do I smell a new dg filter? Smells at least not like broccoli!

Temporal denoising is a huge +

I tried it v2.4 with but don't really see any difference :(

Code: Select all

Denoiser.exe -i '.\test2.vpy - 1231.png' -o test1.png

That's strange. I'll try it with your PNG. It's worked great on everything I've tried.

Hmm, yes, it doesn't work so good on that.

Read the discussion here and you'll see other people saying similar things.

https://declanrussell.com/portfolio/nvidia-ai-denoiser/

Maybe it's really just specialized for noise from 3D renderings and so has trouble with some 2D images. I'll look into it some more. If it doesn't look good for general use, I'll do some work on DGDenoise to improve it, such as adding temporal. If we could accept 50ms for Optix, we can accept it for DGDenoise, if the bang for the buck is there. ;)

OK, after some more testing on a wider range of samples, it's clear Optix is a bust for our purposes.
