Guys, please re-download the 3.40 test version. I reverted the INI file stuff back to the first way, because SomeHumanPerson rightly pointed out that the ability to override on the command line was lost.

Today I'll try to add -progressnumbers support in the INI file, and an option for minimum playlist duration. After those are done we'll declare a candidate release for 3.40.

This doesn't really seem constructive. What do you mean? It's a smart, desired feature, as several folks have agreed.

I think what he meant is people shouldn't have to do time calculations in order to simply limit output (versus just saying show me the top N playlists). But you can argue it either way. In fact I've changed my mind again and will keep the duration approach.

You can now have any of these in the INI file:

-keepDialnorm
-fast
-progressnumbers
-showall

Due to a limitation of eac3to architecture the full command line is not parsed when just
displaying the playlists, so it's not possible (or at least not easy) to make a -showall option.
So instead you have it in the INI file. It should be a seldom-required option so no big
deal that it is only in the INI file.

This is my release candidate for 3.40 so please test thoroughly. Thank you.

Well, one fix is needed. For Elemental, the subs are in sync with the 4K Blu-ray, but not the 1080p Blu-ray for some reason. Not sure why. The audio tracks are in sync for both versions.

However, the very last syntax example provided indicates you can query the main Blu-ray disc structure folder and output to a single .mkv, which is not actually (fully) supported by eac3to. It doesn't work with a specific playlist either, nor the video track itself, at least for HEVC/UHD discs. I believe it was meant to work for older video formats according to eac3to how-to docs, because it uses Haali Matroska Muxer in that case, although not sure how useful it is even in that case, as it uses the 1st playlist found, which is not likely desired, as you can see for Elemental 2K disc, it just output 3 hours of main menu loops to .mkv, haha.

Anyway, perhaps worth removing/modifying that syntax example, or providing a more helpful suggested syntax, if someone tries to run a flavour of that command-line with HEVC involved, or even one day supporting HEVC to .mkv / extending mkv support for mkvtoolnix, when present, but that's just an idea to replace outdated Haali splitter.

As you can see, the log says, "Audio has a gap of 170503ms at playtime 0:10:24". But that is not the case, something is wrong here. Plus, there is no sound until 10m24s when you play the file in W64, FLAC or WAV. And as you may imagine, it's completely out of sync.



The track demuxed with eac3to has a duration of 1 h 52 min 12 s 351 ms when you convert the LCPM to W64 or FLAC. But the track demuxed with eac3to_mod has a duration of 2 h 2 min 12 s 351 ms. The video is 1 h 52 min 12 s 351 ms.

Also, when you convert the LPCM track demuxed with eac3to to FLAC, WAV or W64, everything works fine.

If it works with w64 then we should change the -demux behavior to use w64
instead of PCM. There shouldn't ever be any need to write out raw PCM without a wrapper.

Yes, the original libFLAC.dll is very old that came with eac3to, definitely recommend updating if it's going to be included moving forward, just not 64-bit .dll, as it causes crashes in my testing. I successfully tested converting plain mono and stereo DDP and DTS-HD MA to FLAC personally, but not all other possible regressions and codecs. The most recent official version does work v1.4.3 and available here: https://www.rarewares.org/files/lossles ... .3-x86.zip

UPDATE: Tested Elemental UHD and HD discs, converting all audio tracks to FLAC, attached .log for the run below. They are good discs to use for (future) testing with as they have seamless branching and variety of Dolby and DTS audio tracks (just no PCM). All went OK, interestingly for UHD BD only, the last (2) DDP 7.1 audio tracks for SPA and FRE dubs needed a 2nd pass as they had "clipping detected", but not with the HD BD, as they had different DD 5.1 encoded dub tracks, likely due to different disc mastering. I quickly scanned all outputted .flac files for length and sanity checked spectral frequency plots plus skimmed listening to all of them briefly in foobar2000, all seem OK when compared to original source for both discs.
