I just grabbed the 3.43 download but it's being flagged with a virus. Here's the link to the virus info that Edge/Microsoft provides. Just wanted to be sure it's safe.

Oh jeez Louise. Give your download URL. I just downloaded from our site and virustotal shows it clear by Microsoft. Am I supposed to give a crap what Edge thinks? Do you want us to continue on this awesome tool or do you want to henpack us to death? Really.

Kiss the ring guys.

If a dumbass goes around saying you rob banks on the weekend, would you get hot and bothered? Oh, $250 for a signing certificate? How about, no.

Ah, DG, great to hear from you. Every time I have had the good fortune to cross your path I am delighted and inspired. What have you been up to? Girls wanna know, or am I wrong?

Do you believe the giant Microsoft Corporation or a lowly eccentric freeware developer? Pretty clear if you have a reasonable IQ. You do, right? So stay away from this dangerous application. Be safe!

Never wrong, my dear Balti. Thank you for asking, Sir. Mostly philosophy of agency because you need that for evolution, learning theory, everything! I want the fundamental learning rule, the essence of adaptation. Without agents how do we get started?

I recently see a post on another site explaining that they uses the -keepdialnorm option when demuxing the dolby atmos track. Can someone explain in simple terms why the -keepdialnorm was used and if I need to use the -keepdialnorm switch when demuxing atmos tracks?

It causes failure to play as Atmos for players:

@DelBoy83, I personally never remove dialnorm on TrueHD/Atmos tracks and just turn off any related Dolby processing in my Denon AVR settings instead. This keeps Atmos track unchanged, for preservation and perfect playback on all compatible devices, while you can always convert to any other (lossy) format or extract the AC3 core and remove dial norm on that track. Best of both worlds. :)

That is an effective solution but unfortunately that doesn't work on older D+M AVRs that do not have the ability to turn off Dolby related "Loudness Management" (DialNorm), the setting is there but effectively does nothing, this affects ALL D+M AVRs before the 2019 models (2018 "flagship" D+M X8500H(HA)/AV8805(A)) models can also defeat DialNorm as they are on a more recent version of Dolby's Atmos/DSU decoder version SDK), https://www.avsforum.com/threads/defeat ... m.3253654/

Great info, gents. Thank you!

In other developments, we have a new dedicated thread over at doom9 now:

https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=185230

:salute: tebasuna51

I'm going to be engaged over there and try to keep a thick skin. This forum will remain the primary site for discussion/support but doom9 is an important forum that we should not neglect.

Guys, let's take a vote. Should I add back the -showall option or just leave it as is?

Unless it adds a significant maintenance burden for some reason, my vote is to restore it.

I don't personally expect to need it, but I hate to see anyone else's use case being blocked if there's a simple fix to permit it.

gunna release 3.45 today so no need to tell videohelp about 3.44

the current changelog for 3.45 is:

v3.45

* Added -showall option to show all playlists.
* Added -collapse=XXX option, useful for demuxing menus, etc.
* Fixed subs demuxing when the input is a list of M2TS files.
* Set IMAGE_FILE_REMOVABLE_RUN_FROM_SWAP to make eac3to more robust
when running across a network.
* Added -showall, -collapse, and -minDuration to the help screen.
