Cannot generate any file with a size larger than 985661440 bytes (caused by -r8brain)

Hello everyone!

I'm unable to generate any file with a size larger than 985661440 bytes. I've tried decoding 2 different streams: the first is 7.1 DTS-X, the second is 5.1 AC3. I tried both wav and flac. My options are: -downStereo -mixlfe -down16 -resampleTo44100 -r8brain -normalize

eac3to 3.45
up-to-date windows 10, writing drive is NTFS

Progress stops, cpu load drops to zero, and nothing happens. Any ideas to troubleshoot?

Welcome to the forum, jul059! That sounds very strange. I will test with your options tomorrow and report back.

EDIT: Apparently a known issue:

I will investigate.

With a bit more testing, it would appear the problem is with -r8brain, as resampling without this flag works just fine. I picked up the flag on a webpage somewhere, but it is notably absent from the latest help when I simply run eac3to. A shame because r8brain is really great!

Thanks for the further information. I'll look into it. Added to the bug list.

We can't fix this. r8brain is broken and there is no available source or support for it. The next version will print a warning and not implement r8brain. It's not that much better than SSRC anyway I am told. Marking resolved.
