Just updated to 240, and oh-my.

Could the change to write thd+ac3 track please be either reverted, or made optional?

It takes 3-4 mínutes to do that file, and with all the other speed optimazations that has been done over the past year or so, for many people I believe it is a waste of time to write that file.

I surely have never used or missed a thd+ac3 file.

Could it at least be made optional to create that file?

Imo this is a step backwards, to make someone else happy

May have sounded like a good plan, but for me, not so much in real life.

We try to make everyone happy.

But yeah, I wondered why the merging operation is so slow, given how fast the gaps correction runs. I need to look into that. For now, I will add an option as you propose.

Just did a quick test with a 4k movie a bit more than 2 hours long.

2.39 finnished in 2m 5s

2.40 changed to creating thd+ac3 after 2m 3s and then finnished after an additional 1m 37s. Almost the same time as it took to demux.

That is not 3-4 minutes like started yesterday, but it felt like forever, when just sitting there and waiting

The thd+ac3 file is just above 7 GB in size.

Even if it only took 30 seconds for the thd+ac3 file, it is still 25% longer than without it. I am not sure, but I think that most users will just use the thd and the embedded ac3 to mux into mkv.

And most people do NOT use mkv
MP4 is the most commonly used container

Updated 241 to have thd+ac3 on by default.

I have made the merge operation 10 times faster. Applied to thdmerge (1.2), DGDemux/DGDemuxGUI (1.0.0.61), and DGIndexNV (242).

Simply replaced low-level IO with stream IO. YMBDN
