DGIndexNV 246.0.0.0 in cli mode produces massive log for .mp4 input files

Post by hydra3333 »

Hello. Help !
Being an old person, I run a nightly scheduled task to do transcodes of TV captures.
In that I run DGIndexNV in cli mode.
Yesterday I upgraded to DGIndexNV 246.0.0.0.
Usually, my scheduled task log is circa 300kb. I noticed last night's log was 93Mb.
Without any change on my part, other than the new DGIndexNV, there's now a ton of log info coming out of DGIndexNV.
Looking through the scheduled task log, it does not happen for .mpg input files, only for .mp4 input files.
Would be possible to revert the cli DGIndexNV log behaviour to be minimalist like prior to DGIndexNV 246.0.0.0 ?
Or ... is it somehow my fault ?
I have temporarily reverted to using an older version.
Thanks.

DGIndexNV 246.0.0.0 in cli mode produces massive log for .mp4 input files

Post by Rocky »

Please redownload 246 and update DGIndexNV and let me know how it goes. I set verbosity=0 for MP4. My internet is up and down last few days so please be understanding if I seem not to reply right away. Thank you.

Good to hear. Not sure why earlier versions worked. Going to remain a mystery. Thank you for the report. :salute:

Is there a way to disable log completely when launching index by cli?

verbosity = 0 effectively disables it.

You're talking about the normal DGIndexNV log file? If so, see here:

We used to follow the setting of the 'Enable Info Log' option in the INI file to control this in CLI. But I had a few people ask for it to be unconditional, as it is now. Hard to please everyone!

Generally, I try to minimize proliferation of options, not only because my time is limited, but also to avoid cluttering and additional maintenance work.

I am talking about its call from CLI in a batch.

I had Enable_Info_Log=0 set already but log never stopped to be created when DGIndexNV is launched by CLI.

Add a line in your batch file to delete it if you don't want it.
