if DG is willing to give up an arm and a leg (maybe one of two appendages as well)
Uh, I'm aware only of the one appendage. What am I missing? :? And just to be clear, I'm not giving that up!

I can't think of a better way to dispose of my savings before the progress bar of life reaches the end than to make the DG tools people happy.

I swear to God that a lady bug just landed on the monitor screen and started walking around. Is it an omen? Will it drink my blood tonight?

We have version VLC 3.0.16. We didn't have to change anything; it works fine out of the box. We did have to adjust the Win10 SDR brightness slider. What problems are you experiencing?
Nil problems, yet :)

I had been using mpc-hc with madVR and had to change (with gonca's advice) a number of settings per this thread post https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/394 ... ost2558287 onward.

Interesting link, thank you!

Guys, HDR means High Dynamic Range. A HDR400 monitor can deliver 0-400 and in practice somewhat less. A SDR monitor can deliver nominally the same amount. So HDR400 is simply not HDR in my view. It may have more colors and better resolution but it is not HDR. That is why we are looking for HDR600 at a bare minimum, with HDR1000 or greater being preferred.

Been there, done that. My criteria bring up only two. One of them is almost $4000 and the other is not available.

32" UHD true HDR 1000 nits

The link I posted above is similar to the unavailable one so it is currently the candidate.

DG wants HLG support now, so I am looking at this one:

https://www.abelcine.com/buy/monitors-v ... er-monitor

1000 nits
1,000,000:1 contrast ratio

What's not to like? I really wanted 32" but I guess we can settle for 31.1". :(

Head, both arms, both legs, both nuts, sausage. Only the torso left.

If Natasha wanted 6" and you had only 5.1", would she be happy?

Sherman, don't get your hopes up. I'd go for an F150 pickup first, and what do you see in my driveway?

I still see the lady bug moving around, but she seems very tired and lethargic. Poor thing. I wish I could help her. Mr Peabody (my Dad) says her telomeres are used up, and she lived her biological life in service of her species. I always think of the burning spark along a trail of gunpowder. Curly is right. Thinking is hard.
