Nice change and bug fixin' Curly! That's a great idea on being able to add other parameters using .ini file, or at least -progressnumbers/most common ones?Trunks wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 9:05 amSo far so good. More tests are needed to be sure, but you did a good job with this one!
I see that you've changed the -progressnumbers command, so now the progress bar is only one line, instead of one line per new percent. That's great too, thanks!
Regarding this, would it be possible to add -progressnumbers in the .ini file, so eac3to_mod automatically uses it without the need to add it for every command?

Yeah guys, I was thinking of allowing a few more things in the INI file. Let's see. Why not just a list of options that gets appended to the CL? Duh.
The crashing fix may not be the final word. We would like to do the full THD gaps optimization, but only if we can stop avcodec from crashing. I am experimenting in that regard. Our beloved Guru madshi says it is important. Submit that ye not suffer.

B*ndits obviously is passive aggressive due to the ban here previously. I would ignore anyone negative and just post informational-only posts over there. I added my 2 cents to try to steer things the right direction, but there will always be annoying people. We appreciate you.

It looks like there is a regression with the latest version. With Elemental (Full HD), there are a ton of errors for the video like "[v02] Video overlaps for 16124 frames at playtime 0:00:59. <WARNING>".
But it seems the video is actually good. When I check the number of frames of the video, it's 145962. It's the same thing for the video demuxed with eac3to 3.34, DGDemux and MakeMKV. And there is no problem when playing the video.
Also, there is no problem when you only demux the video:
When it comes to the 4K Blu-ray, there are no errors, either with -demux or when you only demux the video:
Code: Select all
eac3to v3.40
command line: eac3to_mod.exe Elemental 3) -demux -progressnumbers

You can use .* so eac3to automatically uses the right extension for the file.
Instead of typing 2: Video4K.h265 3: English.thd 8: French.eac3 9: Spanish.eac3 10: Subtitles.sup, you can use 2: Video4K.* 3: English.* 8: French.* 9: Spanish.* 10: Subtitles.* to save time.
One exception is for the chapters, where you have to use .txt. You can't use .* for this one (not sure why).
Also, for TrueHD (Atmos) tracks, you need to use 3: English.thd 3: English.ac3. By the way, if you use 3: English.*, eac3to_mod will try to create a thd+ac3 file. So the encoding is back like before:

Ah, thank you.
Please re-download 3.40 test for:
* Fixed video overlap warnings.
* INI file changed. Now it is a list of options to append to the command line.
For example, your INI file could be (keep it all on one line):
-fast -keepDialnorm -progressnumbers
https://rationalqm.us/misc/eac3to_mod_3.40_test.rar
Your test results will be appreciated. Thank you. If this build is solid I'd like to make an
"official" non-test release.

I think it's good, yes.
The only change that may bother people is related to the playlists. With the original eac3to, you get a few playlists displayed and quickly know which one to use. With eac3to_mod, you get all the playlists, and there can be a lot.
For Elemental for example, there are 395 playlists displayed with eac3to_mod and only 3 with eac3to (those 3 are indeed the movie). So you have to scroll all the way up with eac3to_mod to find the right one, every time. Plus, the playlists for the movie are #3, #4, #5 and #6 (which is identical to #3 but the number of the playlist is different: 00800.mpls vs 00805.mpls). #1 and #2 are ignored by the original eac3to, probably because it understands that the repeated files are not the movie. For example, the playlist #1 is actually the menu of the Blu-ray.
Also, the original eac3to ignores playlist 00805.mpls because, I assume, it understands that it's the same as 00800.mpls.
DGDemux also have all the playlists, but you immediately have the good ones available without scrolling or anything.
I know eac3to(_mod) is CLI, so you can't prevent the list from going all the way down. So maybe having an option to have the same behavior as the original eac3to may be a good thing for most users. Either enabled by default in the .INI file or disabled with the possibility to add it later in the .INI if the user wants.

This is nice, yes. The option to specify the minimum time is great too.
Maybe having a command like -allplaylists/-showallplaylists or something like that could be useful for those who absolutely want all the playlists for some reason. But let's be honest here, it doesn't seem like a necessity for the vast majority. That might be useful for those who want extremely short bonuses.
And if playlists like the first one below on the image with the same M2TS repeated again and again could be ignored (it's obviously not the movie or a bonus, it's the menu in general), that would be great too. But maybe I am asking too much.
